I have read there are a couple of ladder sections on the TMB. Should I worry?

Don’t worry at all.

There is one small ladder on the descent from Lac Blanc on day 1 of the walking. It is about 15 feet high and approximately half an hour below Lac Blanc en-route to Argentiere. You can also bypass this section – there is a fairly easy descent on rocks just to the right of the ladder.

There are quite a few other laddered sections – mostly above Chamonix – but our Route Notes advise to avoid them and follow the route we recommend.
